Hello! <3

Firstly, thank you so much for 1000+ downloads! When I first uploaded this I thought I would be happy if even just a few people played it or if it reached 100 downloads and now it's 10x that much! That's crazy and amazing! :D

Also for some reason, the web build is working now. So, yay! I tried so many times to make it in the past and thought I'd give it another shot.  I'm so happy it's working now and hopefully, more people will play it. :)

Thank you to my friend squidcolas who drew this cute art of Max and Lyra to celebrate! (If you follow me  on twitter then you probably saw it already.) squidcolas is also the sprite and CG artist of Elated Sorrow. 

We met when I commissioned them for the sprites and we talked a lot about visual novels....and we just never stopped talking after that lol. I'm so happy to have them as my friend and I wouldn't have ever met them if I didn't set out to make this visual novel. <3 

 Another cool thing is squidcolas just released the demo of their first visual novel! So if you enjoy their art you should check it out. Though it is a yandere horror so very different from Elated Sorrow. I highly recommend it! You can check it out on squidcolas' itch.io page here.  

 Squid also does sprite and CG commissions for visual novels if you'd like to hire them. :)

About the update and what was changed. Not a whole lot! I didn't want to change too much because I think it's cool to see how much I've grown! I made this while still learning how to use Ren'Py so it was a little awkward in some places which is why I went back to see what I could fix.

Here is what was changed:

Changelog 1.2:

• Changed the transitions so they're smoother and quicker, I hope. 
• Tried to make the music and sfx the same volume, may not be noticeable.
• Adjusted the text buttons on the main menu so they're a bit more spaced out and bigger. (probably not noticeable.)
• Added a "Thank you for playing!" at the end.
• Fixed some weird wording I noticed while reading it. 
• Added a web build.

Even though this is my least popular visual novel (at this time in writing)  it still means a whole lot to me. It's the one I spent the most time on and the longest one I've written to date. I also put a lot of personal feelings into it.  A few people have commented saying they find it relatable and I find that fact very touching.

I had to read it again to make sure everything works fine and I almost cried lol...okay, maybe I cried a little. It's very emotional and close to my heart. 

This will probably be the last devlog I write for this vn. Unless I end up returning to it someday to give it even more polish. But I just don't have time to do that at the moment since I'm working on new projects!
