Ruby video calls her girlfriend Maia. They haven't talked in awhile.

A short kinetic novel that contains:

1000 words

1 CG

1 'cute' girlfriend

This is something I put together in 2 days as I decided to join the Yuri Game Jam last minute. I hope you can enjoy it for the short experience it is. :)

Thanks for playing <3

Note: This was a spur of the moment idea. I don't normally write stuff like this. So please don't follow me if you're expecting more of this genre. I normally write cute gay and lesbian romance stories.

at first i was confused on who we as the player were playing as but i think im just dumb and im going off topic anyway.i was very surprised by the end, i never wouldve thought that maia was a game/program. this really reminded me of ddlc at the end. another great game!

Thank you very much! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the ending despite being confused in the beginning. Sometimes I think about deleting this (it gets low ratings from time to time), so reading comments like this makes me happy! Thanks for playing. :D

i liked this a lot! i love games with a ddlc feel

(+1)

Thank you! I'm glad to hear you liked it. :)

(+1)

The game was interesting.

Maia reminds me of Monika from ddlc.

I'm glad you found it interesting! :D
It's funny because a few people have said that but I've never played DDLC. It's cool though!

(+1)

Wow that was scary, the plot twist was interesting.

I'm glad you think so! Thank you for playing. :)

(+1)

Woahh I wasn't expecting that ending! I really liked that, especially when Maia was using guilt tripping tactics and confusing me, making me feel annoyed yet guilty at the same time. For such a short notice game it really is a great game! I'm curious what'll happen if it'll be expanded but I'm content with it as it is~

Thank you so much for playing and sharing your thoughts. I'm glad you enjoyed the short experience and were surprised by the ending hehe.  :D

Oho, wasn't expecting that
Nice job!

Thank you very much! :)

This is AMAZING! I LOVE THIS GAME <3 please make more of this. you're doing a great job.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it. :)

I liked the game, but it scared me.  Good Job!

Thanks so much! I'm glad you liked it and that you found it scary. :D

This game made me sad, even if I know that what Ruby did was for the best...

*SPOILER*: Maia's yandere expressions caught me off-guard... I did not expect them to be that intense!

I wish there was a sequel, either about what happened after Maia was deleted or about Maia's POV! She gives me Monika from DDLC vibes and I've always been interested in characters like her. Of course, I understand you made this for a jam so no pressure! I just think that they're interesting ideas.

BTW, Maia is really pretty, hehe. A shame that *SPOILER* she's not real even in the game's universe.

Great work on this game! I look forward to playing your future projects!

Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. :)

I have seriously thought about making a sequel. But can't say if it will happen for sure. It's nice to know people would like to see one.

I'm glad you think Maia is pretty hehe. I think so too!

Thank you! ♡

good game and I wanted to ask if you would release a game like this again because I think it would be great if you could make a game with the same genre but maybe a different point of view

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

I have thought about making another visual novel like this. I'm not sure if I will though because I have a lot of different ideas.

What point of view were you thinking of?

(+1)

It's up to you what game you want to make, I'll definitely try it

(+1)

I wonder the story that what is next after deleting Maia photo.

I'm glad it has made you curious. :)

Can't wait to try this game out later! Whenever i saw Visual Novel and Psychological Horror paired up for this game I knew I had to try it! Will post updates.

I hope you enjoy it! :D

😊👍

Thanks for playing! :D

I love playing this one! It actually reminded me of my ex because the dialogues felt too real!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and found the dialogue realistic. :)

I love your writing! I hope to see more of your work!

SWEET GAME DEV

Thank you! :D

Omg... I opened the game and suddenly I was like "WHAT". Completely took me by surprise! It was a good short game! I can totally see an expansion of it/a sequel! Great work!! Also I totally understand the feeling of putting something together last minute for the jam haha

(+1)

Thank you very much! I'm glad it surprised you. I was worried I may have made it too obvious haha. I can see the potential for a sequel too. Maybe one day when I'm done with my other planned projects hehe. :D

(+1)

This was pretty short with a twist, I liked the facial expressions, they were super creepy. Good job on this!

(+1)

Thank you very much! Glad you liked it. Thank you for sharing the video too. :)

What a nice game! It goes to show that a game doesn't have to be hours long to be good. I liked the art and Maia sure nailed that creepy expression when the time came.

Thanks for playing and for your kind words. I appreciate you making a video too. :D

(+1)

Short but really good! :)

(+1)

Thanks so much! :)

(+1)

short story but it's good , the ending surprised me

art is good too :)

(+1)

Thank you, Anwynn! Glad you liked it. :D

Good short story. Her scary face was really scary. Overall, I like it and it's easy to understand.

I made the gameplay on Youtube, you can watch it if you want.

Thanks so much for playing and for making a video too! I will watch it when I get time. :D

(+2)

The game is good but it could have been developed more like putting more stories where the couple develops more in their normal days, because the ending seemed sudden to me. Other than that, the art, music and ending twist are good

(1 edit) (+1)

Thank you! I agree it would have been nice to add more of them spending time together. But I didn't have enough time since I made it in 2 days for a jam. I'm glad you liked it despite its short length. :)

(+1)

Trying to tell an entire story in under 10 minutes is an impressive feat, and Maia manages to accomplish this. A simple video chat between girlfriends that ends up being more than it seems.

My overall play time was around 5-7 minutes, and the game was quite polished for being made in two days. The ending was conclusive, (or was it?) and the characters, well written. Cleary this isn't Foxpancakes first game, as most people wouldn't be able to make something of this quality in such a short time.

Thank you for the kind comments! And for making a video too. I have yet to watch it but I will soon. I love that you added Maia's face on the TV in the thumbnail haha. :D

Thanks for playing ♡

(+1)

You're welcome! I was intending on using her face in the TV to show the contrast between her personality, but unfortunately it's hard to see her expression. Hopefully just seeing it there will imply that there's more than meets the eye.

(+2)

I really liked this game and that it's in slightly different tone compared to your previous works, also the twist at the end is nice :)

(+2)

Thanks so much! I'm glad to know someone who has read my other stories enjoyed this one too, even though it is different. I appreciate your support. ♡
